Yin Fuying / 尹福英 — Political Prisoner Profile

Yin Fuying (尹福英), born in 1955, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jilin City, Jilin Province, and a former worker at the Jilin City wool-spinning factory. In 2025 she was reported to have been sentenced to nine years in prison following a mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in Jilin in June 2023.

Background. According to Minghui, a Falun Gong-affiliated news outlet, Yin was subjected to repeated detention over more than a decade for her Falun Gong practice: she was detained three times, sent to labor camps twice, and expelled from her job at the wool-spinning factory. In October 2000, she traveled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was detained in Tiananmen Square; she was later sent to a three-year labor-camp term. A 2005 detention ended when a labor camp declined to admit her after she failed the medical examination.

The 2023 case. On June 4, 2023, police and community personnel in Jilin City carried out a coordinated, cross-district roundup of more than 30 Falun Gong practitioners, according to Minghui. Yin Fuying was arrested at her home near Changcheng Road in the Fengman district the same day; her home was searched and she was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center. Minghui reported in September 2023 that police were building a case against her, with personnel stationed outside her building.

Sentencing. By February 2025, Minghui reported that Yin Fuying and six fellow practitioners detained in the same roundup had been sentenced: Yin Fuying to nine years; Jiang Ruihua to three years; Lü Shuzhen to three years; Li Wenhua to four years; Xia Guihua to two years; Xu Min to one and a half years; Guo Zhongxin to one year and four months. The report states that most of the families had not received written verdict notices. The specific criminal charge and the prison where she is held have not been reported. The prisoner-of-conscience database maintained by Chinese Human Rights Defenders records her nine-year term as running to June 3, 2032.

Status. Yin Fuying is reported to be serving her sentence. No official court document for this case is publicly available; the account of the arrest and sentencing comes from Minghui’s reporting and the CHRD database record.
