Yin Qiuyang (尹秋阳), born in 1949, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Huaihua, Hunan Province. In February 2025, the Zhijiang County Court sentenced her to three years and six months in prison; her term runs to April 15, 2027.
Detention and trial. According to a notice published by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong, Yin — then 75 — was seized on October 16, 2023, by officers of the Yingfeng police station under the Hecheng District branch of the Huaihua Public Security Bureau, along with two fellow practitioners, Jiang Changxian and Wu Fangming. The three were held at the Huaihua City detention center. Prosecutors in Hecheng District approved their arrests, the Zhijiang County procuratorate indicted them, and the Zhijiang County court tried them. Yin’s trial took place on April 12, 2024; the notice states that family members who asked to observe were refused entry, and that her lawyer challenged the proceedings in court before the judge adjourned.
Sentencing. The prisoner-of-conscience database maintained by Chinese Human Rights Defenders records that on February 13, 2025, the Zhijiang County Court sentenced Yin Qiuyang to three years and six months in prison, with the term ending April 15, 2027. The specific charge was not recorded. The database notes that she had previously been detained multiple times for practicing Falun Gong, sent once to re-education through labor, and sentenced twice before. A civil-society monthly roster of mainland political prisoners (Weiquanwang, August 31, 2026) lists her among prisoners serving three-and-a-half-year terms.
Status. Yin Qiuyang is reported to be serving her sentence. No official court document for this case is publicly available; the account of her detention, trial, and sentencing comes from the CHRD database record, the Weiquanwang roster, and the advocacy notice described above. No release has been reported.
