Wang Jucai (王聚才) — Media Profile & Source Archive

About this archive

This archive preserves the principal records used for the profile of Wang Jucai (王聚才), a Nanyang, Henan consumer-rights activist convicted in the same 2019 case as Chen Qiang, Wang Qing and Han Meng.

April 22, 2020 — Chinese Human Rights Defenders

CHRD’s briefing on reprisals against rights and democracy activists names Wang Jucai as one of the co-defendants convicted by the Wolong District Court on September 6, 2019. CHRD reports that authorities accused the group of extortion or blackmail through their complaints against companies accused of selling counterfeit products. CHRD’s characterization of the case as retaliatory remains attributed to that organization.

May 2021 — Chinese Political Prisoner Concern

CPPC’s case record for co-defendant Chen Qiang provides detailed information about the shared four-person case, including the group’s earlier consumer-rights complaints, the October 19, 2018 arrests and the September 6, 2019 trial. CPPC’s evaluative descriptions of the conviction remain the organization’s own characterizations.

August 31, 2026 — Rights Defense Network

The Rights Defense Network’s Issue 131 monthly report lists 王聚才 in its group reported as serving eight-year sentences. This is the latest dated custody evidence in the prepared package.
